Hi, my name is Lisa Laugs and this is my B1 Portfolio. This year I started my new study Industrial Design at TU Eindhoven. For me, this study offers the perfect combination of technology and creativity, because my interests lie in both the technological  aspect as well as the design aspect of products. I value diversity, variation and a broad focus.

A huge source of inspiration is travelling. Journeys of either exploring nature or visiting large metropolises. Nature’s peacefulness or a city’s vivacity leads to gaining new experiences, new impressions and a new flow of energy. Hopefully one day I will be able to make a world trip!

Besides travelling, I also like plants, cacti, minimalism and interior design. Furthermore, I attach great importance to music. I play two instruments: the piano and the cello.

Since I was a child, I have always been curious and eager to learn. I was busy as a bee. Always colouring, tinkering, creating, exploring… My wish was to become an inventor and now, by studying Industrial Design, I might actually become one.

My father being an architect and art lecturer, I grew up in an environment in which design was already present. Names like Gerrit Rietveld, Philippe Starck, and Zaha Hadid are well-known to me. I've visited a lot of museums, have heard a lot about art and architecture and this has all contributed to the fact that I have a great awareness of existing designs and opportunities. Thanks to this environment and my personal character traits, I developed a lifestyle in which I find styling and design very important.
